Luke Halferty is a versatile sketch comedy performer, actor and singer who is currently performing on the Upright Citizen's Brigade New York City stage as a member of the "Maude" sketch team, "First Wife," and has performed in UCB's "Characters Welcome" and "Sketch Cram" shows.
When he is not making people laugh with his sketch characters and impressions, Luke has been known to dabble in musicals and classic theatre. At the historic Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, he portrayed "Young" Ebenezer Scrooge, handing the role over mid-production to Broadway and TV legends Patrick Page and Richard Thomas in A Musical Christmas Carol for four holiday seasons. Luke took the lead as Aaron in the musical First Date and played dozens of roles in the madcap comic thriller The 39 Steps in two of the most successful runs in CLO Cabaret history. He also honed his summer stock chops on the Benedum Centre stage in CLO's Titanic, The Full Monty and Brigadoon.
Luke played alongside legendary character actor Stu Pankin in Jeeves in Bloom at the Saint Vincent Summer Theater. He was Trofimov in The Cherry Orchard, Orin the Dentist in Little Shop of Horrors, and Hugo & Frederic in Ring Round the Moon at Nevada Conservatory Theatre. At the Pittsburgh Public Theater, he played Guildenstern in Hamlet and worked with PICT Classic Theatre in their production of The Merchant of Venice as Bassanio and in the Scottish Play as Malcolm. Some of his other credits include Curley in Of Mice and Men, Officer Lockstock in Urinetown, the Musical, Jud Fry in Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma!
The Pittsburgh, PA native has an MFA in Theatre Arts from University of Nevada, Las Vegas and a BFA in Acting with a minor in
Musical Theater from Point Park University's Conservatory of Performing Arts in Pittsburgh. Luke is a proud member of Actors Equity Association, the union of American stage actors and stage managers.
