Luke Halferty is a versatile actor and singer who has worked with theaters around the country and can currently be seen on the
Upright Citizen's Brigade New York City stage as a member of one of their "Maude" sketch comedy teams.
At Nevada Conservatory Theatre he played Trofimov in The Cherry Orchard, Orin the Dentist in Little Shop of Horrors, and Hugo & Frederic in Ring Round the Moon. Luke originated the role of Albion Freeman in the world premiere of Storming Heaven: The Musical at West Virginia Public Theatre. At Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, he portrayed Young Ebenezer Scrooge in A Musical Christmas Carol for four holiday seasons, and took the Benedum Centre stage in Titanic, The Full Monty and Brigadoon. Luke was Aaron in the musical First Date and played dozens of roles in the madcap comic thriller The 39 Steps, at CLO Cabaret. At the Public in Pittsburgh, he played Guildenstern in Hamlet and worked with PICT Classic Theatre in their production of The Merchant of Venice as Bassanio and in the Scottish Play as Malcolm. Luke has had the pleasure of working at the Saint Vincent Summer Theater in Too Many Cooks and Jeeves in Bloom. Some of Luke's other credits include Curley in Of Mice and Men, Officer Lockstock in Urinetown, the Musical, Jud Fry in Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma!, directed by Broadway and screen veteran Patrick Cassidy, Henry Clay in the raucous Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, and Reverend Parris in Arthur Miller's The Crucible.
The Pittsburgh, PA native has an MFA in Theatre Arts from University of Nevada, Las Vegas and a BFA in Acting with a minor in
Musical Theater from Point Park University's Conservatory of Performing Arts in Pittsburgh.
Luke is represented by Bloc Agency, New York City.
He is a proud member of Actors Equity Association, the union of American stage actors and stage managers.
